Beside – as mentioned – Salzburger Lokalbahn, a second one of Austria’s local railways got an extension mid-December. Shorter than Salzburg’s, but very important generally. As it’s the first step of a connection between Traunseebahn (Vorchdorf-Eggenberg – Gmunden) and Gmunden’s famous tramline. If you ignore the Riffelalp Hotel Tram in Switzerland, Gmunden’s is the world’s shortest with 2.3 km. Yet. And with 10 % gradient also one of the steepest worldwide.
